Laurie & Ruth Bishop

He began square dancing in 1987 and round dancing in 1990, and Ruth joined him in 1991.

He attended Round Dance School in New Hampshire in 1993 to hone his cueing skills. In the early (90s) they became club cuers for both the Capital City Rounders and the Elm Tree Squares.  Cued for Oromocto Pioneers from 1995 to 1996. Founded Pepper Creek Rounders and conducted intermediate level instructions for 2 years.

Cued for Woodstock Wheelers from 2004 to 2006.

Actively and regularly supported all Fredericton area specials, often as Cuer, As well, they supported all club functions for the Capital City Rounders and the Elm Tree Squares.

They are members of MCCA and they have been one of the headline Cuers there for several years.

They are long time members of the NB Round Dance leaders Association and are currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer.

Laurie is one of the busiest guest cuers for Fredericton area specials.

They have been guest cuer/leader for Charlie’s Angels annual fall round dance festival weekend on more than one occasion, and substituted for their regular Club cuer  when asked.

They have cued at New England convention in Bangor, and Canadian National Conventions in Ottawa, Halifax, and Saint John.

Choreographed the round dance portion of the 2002 convention song.

Have done demos at malls, Senior residences and Nursing Homes.

She was president of Capial City Rounders in 2003.

They have always promoted Round Dancing as a fun and healthy activity .

Together they make a great team and they keep the fun in dancing while they are teaching the steps.
